Your Privacy 🔐

When you are creating a Heirloom Impression Kit pendant with us, you are entrusting us with your personal information. We take this responsibility seriously and have strict steps in place to ensure that your private identity is never compromised.

Our Casting Process

We utilise a thousand-year-old process called 'Lost Wax Casting' to make your heirloom pendant.

Without going into too much detail, we take the single impression wax you provide us and encase this in a special form a casting plaster.

We then place this in a kiln to physically melt and evaporate away the wax, leaving a pendant-shaped cavity.

This cavity is then filled with molten precious metal to create a single casting of your original wax.

In short, your unique wax is sacrificed to make a metal pendant. This is the metal pendant that is finished by our jewellers and returned to your door as a necklace.

An additional or spare version of your pendant does not exist. The only version of your pendant is the one you receive.

Fingerprints

For 100% clarity, we DO NOT and will NEVER digitally scan your fingerprint or texture from the heirloom waxes you provide us. Not only is it technically very challenging, we just don't see the need to. We have many processes in place to guarantee that the correct pendant is returned to you, so why complicate things?!

We DO NOT store any records of fingerprints in a database, and we DO NOT supply any information to any governments, corporations, spies, banks or agencies.

We thought that the above went without saying. Big companies keep breaking our trust, but we won't.

We are simply a business making a nice product that you can love and cherish forever.

Spare Waxes

What are they?

In the Heirloom Kit, you will receive two tins. One tin is marked as 'MAIN' and the other is marked 'SPARE'.

The lost wax casting process is amazing, but it can never be 100% perfect. From time to time, some imperfections may occur in the castings that may have compromised the all-important impression you have captured.

In cases like this, we utilise the next best spare wax to cast instead. This allows us to quickly react to issues and minimise your wait time, whilst making sure you are getting the best pendant possible.

How are they stored?

Spare waxes are catalogued and securely stored under lock and key for a retention period. This makes them quickly available to us should we need to use them as a result of problems arising from the main wax.

How long are they stored?

Spare waxes are stored for the duration of the casting process plus 30 days. This gives you enough time and opportunity to receive your finished pendants and confirm you are satisfied.

Although we check every pendant for quality before it leaves our production team, if you are not 100% happy, you can get in touch within these 30 days. Equally, we also account for any delivery issues whereby an order may have been damaged or lost in transit.

If a replacement pendant is needed, we should have a spare on hand to quickly process.

Any spare waxes associated with an order are destroyed 30 days after that submission has been completed and sent back to you.

Duplicates and Moulds

If you have ordered a silicon mould or a duplicate of your heirloom pendant, the process works slightly differently.

Duplicate Castings

We will never make a duplicate casting of your heirloom necklace for our own purposes - ever! All duplicate castings that you have requested and paid for are returned to you once complete.

Silicon Mould

What is it?

The Heirloom Kit is designed to capture and immortalise a moment in time. That would be tiny fingerprints, an impression taken on a significant date or in memory of a loved one.

It's only natural that things may get misplaced, broken or lost in the future. We never know. A mould acts as a form of reassurance that a replacement or spare pendant can be cast in the future.

When you request a mould, it is created by encasing silicon around your finished precious metal original pendant. We then slice this silicon to remove your original pendant, and hey presto, we have a mould!

How it's stored?

If you purchase a silicon mould, this is securely stored in a walk-in vault alongside our solid gold and platinum stocks. Everything is catalogued in our system so we can quickly and easily locate it in the future.

Returning your mould?

We keep all silicon moulds securely at CAST. This is primarily to ensure that they are properly stored to preserve their longevity. However, if you'd like for us to return your mould to you for self-storage, simply get in touch and we can arrange this for you. All we require is a small postage contribution.
